Overview
For our final project in my College Sculpture class, we had to pick an artist that inspires us and create art based on them. I chose for my artist, Andy Goldsworthy. Goldsworthy uses nature around him to create beauty within the beauty of nature. I was fascinated by his sculptures that are very intricate and fragile. I also loved how he used vibrant colors and how almost all of his projects are temporary. Just as he finishes a project, nature will soon wipe it out. His ice sculpture melts, the wind blows over his webbing of sticks, and his colorful line of leaves floats away. So I used his projects as inspiration for my own at the creek near my house and in my backyard. Here are the results.
